Information
Two women's fates, two marriages, two composers in one evening and one big question: How far do we go for those we love? The weight of love and freedom is explored in this production, which links Ludwig van Beethoven's only opera Fidelio and Mark-Anthony Turnage's dramatic scene Twice Through the Heart. While Beethoven's work focuses on the bold Leonore who risks her life for her missing husband, Mark-Anthony Turnage exacerbates the fate of a lonely, nameless prisoner in which the abysmal side of love is painfully reflected.
