Information
In 1957, Paul Hindemith premiered his opera, Die Harmonie der Welt [The Harmony of the World] - about the life and work of Johannes Kepler. Needless to say: the city of Linz is playing a major role in this opera as well. Of course, Hindemith also reflects about the experience of Nazi terror when he poses the question what sense art and science can make in politically problematic times. Yet the composer dispenses with all superfluous late-Romantic pomp. Yet his music is as sensuous as it is intelligent, as modern as it is familiar.
