Information
Rigoletto, La Traviata and Il Trovatore – the trilogy of works, to which Giuseppe Verdi owes his worldwide fame, intentionally focuses the plot on outcasts of society. In La Traviata, it is noble courtesan Violetta Valery, whose love for Alfredo Germont fails due to his father’s opposition on the one hand and becomes impossible because of her own death from consumption on the other. The worldwide success based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas will be staged in Linz by a world-famous director: Robert Wilson.
