A girl who has to deal with a new family situation emancipates herself by force of her own will and with a lot of courage as well as the support of supernatural powers, finds happiness and fulfils her life's dream of becoming a dancer. And if everything goes well, it may even get the prince in the end. And if they haven't died ...

Fairy tales give one thing above all: hope. Hope and visions are what we need as human beings in our crisis-ridden and fragile present - perhaps also to change and shape this present. Fairy tales tell of our dreams and our despair, with solutions of a utopian kind, in order to be able to survive as human beings in a fast-moving time of excessive demands and unrest as well as political and economic catastrophes. Fairy tales teach us to believe in the good again. In her Cinderella, Mei Hong Lin tells the story of the longing for happiness, for security, for love and a happy life as well as the achievement of dreams through one's own efforts, despite all circumstances and aberrations. Nothing is impossible if you believe in it and work hard for it! A dance evening for everyone who loves fairy tales and doesn't want to be put off by life (any more).

Märchen geben vor allem eines: Hoffnung. Hoffnung und Visionen sind das, was wir als Menschen in unserer krisenbehafteten und zerbrechlichen Gegenwart brauchen – vielleicht auch, um diese Gegen- wart zu verändern und zu gestalten. Märchen erzählen von unseren Träumen und unserer Verzweiflung, mit Lösungsansätzen utopischer Art, um als Mensch überleben zu können in einer schnelllebigen Zeit von Überforderung und Unruhe sowie politischen und wirtschaftlichen Katastrophen. Märchen lehren uns, wieder an das Gute zu glauben. Mei Hong Lin erzählt in ihrer Cinderella die Geschichte von der Sehnsucht nach Glück, nach Geborgenheit, nach Liebe und einem glücklichen Leben sowie dem Erreichen von Träumen aus eigener Kraft, allen Um- ständen und Irrwegen zum Trotz. Nichts ist unmöglich, wenn man daran glaubt und hart dafür arbeitet! Ein Tanzabend für alle, die Märchen lieben und sich vom Leben nicht (mehr) abschrecken lassen wollen.
