Information
The composer Ralph Benatzky is appreciated and loved by operetta lovers above all for his Weisse Rössl. That he created many other worthwhile works in addition to this hit of the genre has been forgotten over the decades. But in the meantime, performances of works such as Bezauberndes Fräulein, Meine Schwester und ich or Axel an der Himmelstür are increasingly delighting audiences again. In the BlackBox of the Musiktheater, you can now get acquainted with Benatzky's Zur gold'nen Liebe, which tells of the turbulence in the run-up to and at the premiere of a classical Viennese operetta. This witty, subtle work covers a considerable local and social range, from an amusement arcade on Hamburg's Reeperbahn to the stage of an operetta theatre to a Berlin factory owner's villa (and back again). So this operetta about the operetta is sure to provide varied entertainment to charming, snappy music!
