School of Rock

Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical School of Rock promises to be a real coup. Like the underlying film with Jack Black, it tells the story of the unemployed rock musician Dewey Finn, who pretends to be a music teacher and gets a temporary job at a prestigious public school. There he seems completely out of place at first, but then inspires his class to form a rock band and take part in the "Battle of the Bands" band competition. Shortly before the contest, however, the scam is busted and Dewey is thrown out in a big way. But his class won't stand for it ...

Casting began as early as autumn 2022 for the 14 double-cast children's roles, who not only have to sing, dance and act, but also master the typical rock band instruments of drums, electric guitar, electric bass and keyboard. After more than ten years, the Linz Musical Division presents a Lloyd Webber musical for the first time - and of course it is a German-language premiere! Musical director Matthias Davids is in charge of the production, the set design is by the Priscilla team Andrew D. Edwards and Adam Nee.
